A few days earlier greenpois0n RC5 was released for Mac and earlier today for Windows. Along with an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G and iPad it also lets you install a custom animated boot logo on your iOS device. It is not like a switch button though which you can just turn on or off as an option, for the animated boot logo but you need to follow a series of steps to do that. Here’s what you need to do:
- Jailbreak your iOS device using greenpois0n.
- Download ‘animated’ from here.
- Connect to your device via SSH ( use Cyberduck for Mac OS X or WinSCP for Windows ). Place the animated file in /usr/bin/
- Change the permission of animated to 755.
- Reboot your device
