Kinect for Xbox 360, the controller-free gaming and entertainment experience by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform, is on fire. Being the biggest launch in the history of Microsoft for any Xbox, it is estimated to sell in excess of 3 million units this holiday.
Retailers all over UK are claiming that they have been receiving a large amount of pre-orders ahead of its 10 November launch, with GAME, Amazon and Play stating that they have already run out of their initial stock of Kinect devices.
As a response to this massive arcade a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement “Pre-orders have demonstrated that there is exceptional consumer excitement and demand for Kinect and we will continue to work hard to ensure that Kinect for Xbox 360 is available for the Christmas season.” The representative continued, highlighting the fact that the Kinect launch is taking place over a span of three weeks in every market the Xbox 360 is sold, assuring that “more units of Kinect are available than any other Xbox launch.”
