SHAtter Bootrom Jailbreak Exploit Leaked

SHAtter is a low level bootrom exploit that has been able to successfully jailbreak iOS 4.1 on  iPod Touch 4G and Apple TV 2G. The iPhone Dev Team were about to release SHAtter based GreenPois0n, but at the last moment held it off as Geohot unexpectedly released Limera1n exploit.

They didn’t want to burn two bootrom exploits at once, so they ported Limera1n to GreenPois0n and saved SHAtter for next gen iOS devices, such as iPhone 5 and iPad 2G. p0sixninja has found the crash that led to the development of SHAtter by pod2g

Sadly, a war has started between MuscleNerd and p0sixninja regarding the leaking of SHAtter exploit. p0sixninja is accusing MuscleNerd of leaking SHAtter code around 4 hours after GreenPois0n release as a personal revenge

MuscleNerd of course is strongly denying the accusation, defending himself saying that there were around 15 people in the IRC chat room when pod2g gave the SHAtter code. He says that any one of these guys could have leaked the exploit.

Anyways, for jailbreakers and unlockers this is sad news because one good exploit has been burned. Now iPhone 5 and iPad 2G will need another bootrom exploit to be jailbroken for life.
