Blackberry ups the ante: Plans to Storm rivals

According to the rumor mill, Blackberry is going to launch their next big device on November 14th. This is not an unexpected move and most people are still looking to see how things will play out before making a decision on which phone/pay-plan/mobile service provider to go with. This could well turn into an all out brawl between the iPhone, T-Mobile G1 and the Storm.

Of course, this makes it even more likely for some unknown contender to come in and sucker punch all of them (leastways we would enjoy that happening). The one feature that is most obvious in the BlackBerry Storm is the touchscreen, although not a big surprise given that almost every company is experimenting with it. A full list of specifications can be found here, but the main features seem to be 3G capabilities, 1 GB memory with expandable memory (SD slot), a 15 days standby time and a 5.5 hours talk time, a 3.2 MP camera and built-in GPS. The rest is fairly standard to BlackBerry devices as far as we can tell and only time will tell and it might do so on the 17th instead of 14th of November is some sources are to be believed.
